preparation didn't take as long as I thought soo its official I'm selling Yokai Watch keychains! for the millionth time thank you for everyone's patience and even more so support! You all gave me the confidence to try this out, even just once, and it's been pretty fun ^^ I love you guys~

keychains are 10$ (CAD) with shipping ranging from 5-10$ depending on where you live. There's only 20 available! Item details are all on the website, if you have any questions please reach out!

My little Love Live plushie "club" cozy and comfy on my Kirby blanket "carpet".

At first I just cut down this cardboard box for my µ's plushies but then I decided to add my two µ's related CDs and these Maki and Nozomi figures that my boyfriend sent be awhile back.

Also Jibanyan is here too. Yay, Jibanyan.

So, when Leo's around 10-ish, he accidentally stumbles accross a box filled with a bunch of Lou Jitsu movies (there's even some merch in there!) Which confuses him, considering Draxum had banned anything Lou Jitsu related in their household. He'd shown them some footage from Lou's Battle Nexus fights for research purposes, but his movies were appearently "nothing but human propaganda" so they were strictly off limits..... so why did Draxum even have these?

Leo knew that he'd definitely get in trouble if he watched them and his dad found out but.... if this is the guy who appearently kidnapped his Long Lost Brother, then he should know more about him, right? If Leo was gonna save the softshell from the evil clutches of Lou Jitsu one day, he needs to prepare. So he decides to watch the movies, y'know, for research purposes.

So he does that and uh-

Okay, so in this AU, Leo is a HUGE Lou Jitsu fanboy, and he hates himself for it. Cuz on one hand, he's clearly evil and responsible for taking his softshell brother away from them, but DAMMIT he's just so cool! And Leo appearently has this guy's DNA!? How awesome is that!?

He manages to hide his Lou Jitsu obsession from his family, and being introduced to his movies led to Leo seeking out other human media as well. There are a couple of different reasons why Leo is the first to go against Draxums evil plan and one of those is that, unlike his brothers, Leo is quite familiar with human society and culture. Him being able to teleport also leads to him sneaking to the surface sometimes find out more about humans. All of this leads him to eventually realize that humans really aren't that different from yokai, uh oh, are we the baddies?

Some stuff about Usagi in my AU! (Feel free to ask me more, this is just kinda random stuff from my notes)

Mastapost

- His home dimension is the Prison Dimension (see this post for more info)

- His parents died shortly after he was born, and he lived with his Aunt until he was around 10?? (Side note, it really bugged me his aunt never got named, so she’s called Rin now :D)

- After Rin died, he was trained by Mifune

- When the Krang left, he and his friends (Mariko and Kenichi) started to hatch a plan to escape because they figured the Krang would open a larger portal for the Technodrome

- When they inevitably did, the three started running to escape, but Kenichi got injured and in the end, Usagi was the only one who got through.

- He got a very quick introduction to gravity, and an even quicker one to dislocating his shoulder

- He went through right as Donnie was piloting the Krang ship back through and made the spur of the moment decision to jump to a nearby car

- That car was Shinigami’s. Yes Shini is in this AU. (you can’t stop me! I NEED MY WITCH CHARACTERS!)

- He briefly stays with Shini, but Faustian bargains his way into the battle nexus under the alias White Rabbit (nice going dumbass)

- He gets rescued by Shini, who recruited Gentry and (accidentally) Sunita to help

- He now works at Hueso’s with Sunita and lives in witch town with Gentry!

- Leosagi EVENTUALLY becomes a thing, but I’ve recently realised how much I like writing slow burn so… sorry?

Possible design ideas (tbh these were just the sketches I liked the most so I formatted them like a ref sheet)

Personality stuff and character details under the cut!!

A lot of his personality is based off the samurai rabbit series fyi (I hyper focused on this AU so much I watched it)

- Undiagnosed ADHD iykyk

- He gets a cloaking brooch from Gentry after they become friends (still need to draw that design lol)

- He sleeps with plushies (but only two) - one is from Leo and the other is from Sunita

- The one from Sunita is a giant one of himself she got him as a joke (battle nexus merch wahoo)

- He’s really caring and a little naive, but if you betray him, he. Will. Hate. You.

- Desperately needs a hug but doesn't know it and refuses to ask for one

- Doesn’t usually feel strong emotions, but when he does, he FEELS.

- Gets teleportation sickness, much to Leo’s dismay

- He doesn’t have any innate mystic ability, as he’s neither a Yokai, mutant or witch, and Mariko drained the kast of his mana while they were trying to heal Kenichi.

- Has chronic nightmares

- Gets a motorbike liscense at some point

- ADORES Gentry’s chickens (she has chickens by the way)

- Really likes Frozen and knows the lyrics to Let It Go by heart

- This kind of led him down the pipeline of musicals - bonds with Donnie over this

- Can’t make the voices go away

- Has really bad road rage after he gets his motorbike liscense

- Crashed a lawn mower into Gentry’s fence, making them have to keep the chickens down the side of the house

- Can walk in massive high heels

- So smart, but so, so dumb

- Is still learning to say no

- Roommates with Gentry - couch surfed between the hidden city and Shinigami

- Sometimes goes into musical mode and hums under his breath or sings in the shower

- Uses two in one shampoo and conditioner

- Hasn’t stopped being kinda pissy since he his aunt died.

- Likes thrifting, but only on his own

- Associates ninjas with the monsters created by the Krang - that’s what the people at the labour camp called the transformed people.

Some Leosagi stuff now ig?

- Remember the plushies? The one from Leo is a stuffed bear that he won Usagi at a carnival in the hidden city.

- Leo made him chose a surname and he literally just googled “famous samurai” so now he’s Usagi Miyomoto (his first choice was Usagi Hamato but Leo interpreted that as a proposal and freaked a little)

- He fiddles with Leo’s mask a lot because it reminds him of Rin’s bandanna

- Only realised how touch starved he was after he started dating Leo

- Fell in love with 80s music and media after Leo introduced him to it (not as big a fan of Jupiter Jim and Lou Jitsu, but still watches them)

- Mikey said that if Usagi didn’t “treat Leo right,” he’d beat the shit out of him and use his rabbit pelt as a floor mat, so Usagi’s a little scared of him

- Leo calls Usagi ‘Yuichi’ (which means kind one)

The horrifying implications of Meat Sweats powers.

Rupert (mainly known as meat sweats) is possibly one of my favourite side-villains within Rottmnt as of this moment. Down his writing and animation, the Gordon Ramsey parody is an absolute delight to watch.

Something about his mannerisms is beyond fascinating to me. He's a double threat, both cunning and robust. I could go on about for hours about this overgrown porky pig characteristic and how he is so much more than the very thing he is parodying.

But I'll spare you that mercy and focus on ONE aspect of his character.

His mutant powers. (read more down below)

In 'Nothing but Truffle' we get a lot of insight into how his abilities function. Using the strange tendrils that make up his arm and hands, he can latch onto his prey and suck out their 'essences'. Temporarily possessing his victim's powers while his victim is either immobilized or die after the process (implied). The key word here is "Temporarily" During the episode, after Mikey is betrayed by the British Meatbag we get this little exchange between the two.

"B-but- i thought you were nice now?" "Oh. that wore off hours ago...and by the way, you play lousy mandoline" This shows us, that once he absorbs his victim's powers- throughout the course of an entire day- they only last for a short period. This shows us, that his mutant form can quickly burn off "essences". why is this horrifying? I'll get into it soon enough, sit tightly. Let's us examine what exactly he IS absorbing.

We see that whenever Rupert is absorbing something- it is always GREEN and you what else is green? Empyrean. the source of yokai power, the ingredient used to create mutants. His mutant form requires Empyrean. What do I mean by "require"? well then. We established that Rupert can quickly burn off Empyrean after absorbing it. now i'd like to point out something to you. Notice how Rupert is often described as "cannibalistic" or "vampiric" by other characters, merch and even concept artwork. Notice how often he hunts, he jumps at any opportunity to catch any prey. See how within the show, there are many instances of him having cages upon cages of mutant/yokai saved for special occasions. Almost like, he NEEDS a constant onslaught of Empyrean not because he enjoys the power that comes with it but rather, out of necessity. It is VERY possible that his Mutant form needs it to survive. Normal food won't simply cut it, He hungers for yokai and mutants alike.

So is that it? seems pretty simple enough, right? AHAHAHAHAHA NO MY DEAR READER, WE ARE NOT DONE YET! you are stuck here with me. I had a shocking revelation, one that seemed rather far-fetch but please bear with me.

Rupert has minimal control of his powers.

When the metal gauntlets come off, Rupert cannot control what his tendrils can absorb. An example of this is featured is once again, in "Nothing but Truffle". The second Mikey pulled Rupert's arm to the weretree, the tendrils began draining it upon contact- against Rupert's will. He can't stop it. This is just one of the many instances of it. We know that Rupert can form "claws" with his tendrils based on this one Ep but this is the only time it happens. Usually, they are untangled instead of interconnected

While this could just be an animation inconsistency- please just. indulge me for a moment. Rupert is known as most dangerous mutant according to Tmnt and there's good reason for this. Despite Ruperts disadvantages, he is capable of working AROUND them. He is dangerous not because of his mutant abilities but for his intelligence. we the viewer don't suspect it because He is capable of making split-second decisions within a fight. Rupert is competent in many others ways that we overlook and mislead into thinking he's in full control of his powers. (Idk if he's autistic but he'd be a master at masking lol)

So NOW why is this horrifying?

Keep in mind. Rupert was a human- a shitty one but still human regardless. His mutation wasn't by choice. His cannibalism wasn't a choice. Imagine, you are at the height of your career and in the middle of your show- in front of an entire audience- you suddenly feel a pinch. everything is painful. Your body contorts into a horrific pigish amalgamation in a matter of minutes. The world has its eyes on you. people are watching. All you see is RED.

You've become a monster.

Once the red is gone. All that is left is the hunger. You are reduced to nothing more than a creature lurking within the shadows. A wall is put between you and the remaining semblance of your old life. Everything you work for, Gone. Left to rot away.

No matter how many scraps you pull out of NYC's trash piles. You are still hungry. This disgusting form of yours demands more. The only thing you can do to survive. is give in. indulge. you didn't just become a monster. you ARE the monster.

Whether or not Rupert was deserving of this faith is up in the air. We know that he's always been an Asshole. (both Mikey and himself go on to confirm this)

This isn't meant to suddenly paint Rupert in a sympathetic light nor be an attempt to "redeem" his actions. Far from it. This is meant to further insight into him as a villain and why he acts the way he does. Rupert still values his humanity. Rupert resorts to extreme measures to ensure his own comfortability and his legacy (i.e his restaurant) but thats a topic for another day.

To finally conclude this tangent. While Rupert is scummy sod, the situation he's forced into is unsettling when you sit down and think about it. If anything. he might have become a bigger asshole due to his mutation. (now excuse me- im going step inside this man's food truck and kiss him)

14. do you collect anything?

KINDA. Kinda. I sorta had collected video games, particuarly nintendo ones or at least DS-era ones. I liked getting Pokemon games from used video game stores, though my prize is Yokai Watch 3 because it's FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS now (i got it when it first released for less!). Video games are crazy expensive so i dont really do a lot of collecting / hunting. I once had pokemon emerald and boktai but spending so much made me feel bad so i sold them.

also kinda collect stuffed animals lol. i really liked jellycats but nowadays i dont wanna spend that much moneys. my prized possession jellycat is wilf though i loved him the moment i saw him n im glad i was able to get him (i co own him nowadays with oc but idm).

also also have collected anime merchy, of chainsawman - when i was in jpn i'd go find merch of either Denji or Pochita (the doggy) so I got them now. i like collecting merch of stuff i like but sometimes its scary 'cuz what if i dont like it anymore>_< ?
